therapy for women + femmes

over the past 7 years as a therapist, time and again i’m drawn to helping women through some of the toughest moments of their lives. the thing is, i’ve come to realize that ‘the toughest moment of you life’ isn’t always what you’d expect it to be-certainly no one is suprised that a divorce, death, or natural disaster would be life changing and heart shattering. however, many of my clients are surprised by what’s bringing them into my office. you may be confused why the end of the 3-month relationship is making you depressed; you may be experiencing guilt and grief following the abortion you *know* you wanted; you may feel disappointed in yourself that you’re settling for friendships or partnerships that feel one-sided and draining; you may be feeling stuck in a cycle of people pleasing or ladder climbing without a clue how to stop.

it’s hard to be such a deep feeling person living in these times. it’s even harder to be a woman who is expected to “balance” relationships, being successful, having a social life, all while others expect you to follow this oddly specific trajectory society has for us. i get what it feels like to feel stuck in someone else’s movie. i also know the immense effort, heartache, and joy that can come when we get rid of these societal scripts and follow our own path.

other clinicial specialties and trainings include:

trauma therapy // accelerated resolution therapy (ART)
when talk therapy just isn’t cutting it, it’s likely due to some unresolved trauma. i use ART to help get to the root of anxiety, depression, and ptsd. instead of just masking or managing symptoms, we look at what caused your distress in the first place. sometimes we have to heal the past before we can make different choices in the present. i’m here to help you every step of the way.

you can learn more about how ART combines cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and eye movements here.

pms // pmdd
support for all genders and identities to navigate cycle specific disorders

blending science, compassion, and a sprinkle of personal experience, i support people with cycle specific disorders to better understand their bodies, moods, and hormones, in a way that makes room for acceptance, empowerment, and balance—both within themselves and within their relationships. cycle specific disorders can be confusing for both you and your partner(s), often misunderstood and sometimes leading to blame, hopelessness, or feeling like any problems in the relationship are solely your fault. it doesn’t have to be this way, i promise.

pro-choice support
support for all genders and identities who have had an abortion

to be pro-choice sometimes means to experience grief/joy/certainty/celebration/confusion/ relief, all at the same time. sometimes our feelings may surprise us, like our bodies-or families/partners-don’t agree with a choice that’s solely ours. i understand the decisions and feelings around the often taboo choice to not have children. i offer pro-choice advocacy, including dedicated support for abortion and for those voluntarily choosing not to follow the “2.5 kids, white picket fence” trajectory. it’s hard to go against the grain.

if you are seeking abortion-specific support from out of state, please reach out via email so we can explore resources and options to ensure you receive the support you need and deserve. you can find more information on my abortion specific work and additional resources, articles, and support, here .
