individual counseling // online and in-person therapy in asheville and across north carolina

i specialize in supporting college students and young adults aged 18+ in asheville, nc. together, we work to make sense of the past, move forward after painful experiences, and rediscover that inner joy and fulfillment so many of us seem to have lost along the way.

many of my clients can’t imagine what it would feel like to have a quiet brain, even for just a moment!  memories about the past, fears about the future, or concerns about things that may not even be true are ever present. you replay conversations from 10 years ago, you wonder if you should go no contact with your parent, you’re constantly overwhelmed about the state of the world. through body based practices (somatic therapy), a non judgmental stance, and an understanding of what that might feel like, i help my clients gently unravel these layers and move towards a path of healing.

i often hear that highly sensitive people (HSP) and adult children of alcoholics (ACOA) find our work together to be especially fulfilling and validating, though i work with anyone who has ever felt exhausted by the rollercoaster of their big feelings and self-criticism, has been told they are “too much,” or has ever felt like the black sheep of the family. together, we work to establish boundaries, nurture your nervous system, and build a life that celebrates your uniqueness and creativity.

i provide emdr therapy as i work towards full emdr certification. i also offer therapy for PTSD and complex PTSD in asheville.
